IMPORTANT NOTE-FC DELCO Boys College Seminar Date Change
The date of the Boys College College Seminar has been moved back a week to Wednesday, Feb. 10th, from 7:00-8:30 pm at Radnor High School's alternative theatre known as the "Black Box" next to the main auditorium, . This will also be a more intimate setting for the coaches, players, and parents which will be a positive for the presentation (like a town hall meeting). We apologize for the late change but it is necessary due a NCAA regulation. This is a required event for both players and parents for FC Delco U-14 teams and older and optional for our younger teams.
Four Boys Teams Off To Phoenix
The FC Delco U-12 Rangers, U-13 Black VI, U-14 Crunch Jrs. and U-15 Cannibals are all traveling to the SC del Sol Presidents Day Tournament in Phoenix on Feb. 13. Each year the Club sends numerous teams to Arizona to compete in one of the best tournaments in the West. Good luck to all the teams and have fun in the sun !!
Prentice Represents Trinidad at U-20 World Cup
FC DELCO's NaTasha Prentice will be in Guatemala representing Trinidad's U-20 Women's National Team in the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament from January 19th till the 23rd for this years' U-20 Womens World Cup in Germany. You can follow NaTasha exploits in Guatemala via the CONCACAF website . NaTasha will also be on FOX Soccer Channel this Saturday January 23rd at 4:30 CT on vs the US U-20 womens team. Soraya Toppin-Herbert Selected To id2 National Training Camp
U16 Force Player Soraya Toppin-Herbert was selected to participate in the 2010 id2 National Training Camp, to be held in Fort Lauderdale Florida from February 26th till March 1st. The Camp will feature some of the most talented elite female youth soccer players in the country, showcasing their skills in front of national team and college coaches. Congratulations to Soraya on this wonderful accomplishment.
U-13 Eclipse Girls Train With Tiffany Milbrett at NSCAA Convention
The U-13 Eclipse girls participated in a full two hour training session and clinic conducted by US National Team Player Tiffany Milbrett recently at the NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia. The girls demonstrated their skills and knowledge in front of a large contingent of coaches and had a great time in learning a lot of new things from Coach Milbrett.
Kevin Tangney Taken in MLS Superdraft
FC Delco player Kevin Tangney of the FCD Black IV was taken with the third pick of the third round by Chivas USA in the MLS Superdraft. The draft was held in Philadelphia this year as part of the NSCAA National Convention. Kevin's college career was played at University of Maryland where he an integral part of the Terrapins NCAA National Championship team in 2008. Congratulations to Kevin and best of luck in your new professional career !!
Jill Root Named to the U-17 ENCL All-Event Team
Jill Root of the U-17 Fire Girls was recently named to the U-17 ECNL All-Event Team. This honor was based on the selections of ECNL scouts and coaches from the ECNL event at the Disney Showcase over the holiday weekend. Jill, a midfielder, attends Haverford HS and resides in Havertown, PA. Congrats to Jill and her Fire teammates on a great showing at Disney !!
U-13 Black VI Boys Accepted to Dallas Cup
The U-13 Black VI Boys have been selected to participate in Dallas Cup XXXI. The Dallas Cup is known as the top Tournament in North America and typically draws teams from all over the world. The 2010 event will be held from March 28-April 4 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX. Coach Mike Gorni and staff will be busy preparing the boys this winter for this exciting event.
FC DELCO Website Gets a Facelift!!
There is a new look to the FC DELCO website!! We have been working hard with our web partner, Demosphere International Inc., in redesigning our current site to reflect some of the changes in web technology and to have our site better reflect the recent changes within FC Delco. Some of the new things include a new look to the home page, dedicated sections for the US Developmental Academy and Elite Club National League (ECNL) and links to new social sites that FC Delco will support including Twitter and Facebook. In addition, most Team Pages will be updated to the upcoming 2009-2010 season and have a bit of a different feel as well.
